Who We Are

Maxine Van Doren, MS, CCC-SLP

Hi there! I'm Maxine, a doctoral candidate in Linguistics at UC San Diego. I earned my BA in Linguistics in 2010 and my MS in Speech-Language Pathology in 2013. My journey into speech-language pathology was like many of yours--I didn't have a traditional background, I wasn't sure how I was going to get pre-reqs done, and I didn't know how to choose an SLP master's program. Now, almost a decade later, there's still a big information gap for non-traditional prospective SLP students. I started CSD post-bacc to meet the needs of undergraduate students and working professionals and ease the challenges of preparing for speech-language pathology master's programs.

Hello! I recently earned my B.A. in Linguistics with an emphasis in Speech and Language Sciences from UC San Diego. I am currently pursuing speech-language pathology as my profession. I have been tutoring a wide range of age groups in all subjects for 8 years. In my free time, I love getting brunch with my friends, playing basketball, and star-gazing.
