California State University, Northridge

  • Cost: $814/unit, $24,420 for the entire program + fees
  • Academic Schedule: Start Fall, 2 years
  • Admissions Requirements: BS/BA from accredited institution, Minimum 2.5 GPA, undergrad transcripts.

California State University, San Marcos

  • Cost: $370/unit, $12,210 total (tuition and fees)
  • Academic Schedule: Start summer or spring, 3 semesters (1 year), full-time
  • Admissions Requirements: BS/BA from accredited institution, Minimum 2.5 GPA, undergrad transcripts, English proficiency requirement (international students only), Must reside in an approved state
  • Perks: SLP preparation certificate; Completion of observation hours; Courses can be completed as a non-cohort student, but will not be awarded a certificate (see program FAQs).


Calvin University

  • Cost: $656/unit ($15,360 total)
  • Academic Schedule: Three start dates throughout the year; 1 year commitment, part-time or full-time scheduling available
  • Admissions Requirements: Transcripts
  • Perks: Certificate in Speech and Hearing Foundations; Successful completion leads to guaranteed admission to the online Master's Program; Financial aid available
  • Comments: Faith-based approach to learning, must earn 3.0 GPA in the program


Columbia College

  • Cost: $427/unit Tuition + $27/unit Resource & Technology Fee (18 credit hours total)
  • Academic Schedule: No information provided

  • Perks: Awards a speech-language pathology leveling certificate. Program offers out-of-field ASHA required coursework, but they recommend taking these before enrolling in the program.
  • Comments: Columbia college also has an in-person program.


Eastern New Mexico University

  • Cost: $275/unit *Affordable Program*
  • Academic Schedule: Fall or Spring start, 1-2 years to complete if all courses needed
  • Admissions Requirements: If you already have a Bachelor's, you must apply as a graduate student, CDIS leveler. This does not guarantee admission to the Master's in SLP program. For students without a Bachelor's, you may apply as an undergraduate. 
  • Perks: Take only the courses you need; all courses offered at least once per year


Florida State University

  • Cost: $485/unit (Note: Courses are each 4 units)
  • Academic Schedule: Fall, Spring, or Summer start, 1 year (3 semesters) to complete
  • Admissions Requirements: BA/BS from an accredited college or university, Min 3.0 GPA, written admissions essay
  • Perks: Take only the courses you need


Gordon College

  • Cost: $16,500/semester (assumes full-time 12-20 units/semester)
  • Academic Schedule: Hybrid, enroll any semester; generally 12-16 months

Idaho State University

  • Perks: Awards a Pre-Professional Certificate in Pre-Speech-Language Pathology; Financial aid is available
  • Cost: $815/unit + $250 fee/semester
  • Academic Schedule: Summer, Fall, or Spring start, 1 year
  • Admissions Requirements: BA/BS from an accredited college or university; Completed application with official transcripts
  • Perks: Online courses are asynchronous. Students may choose to enroll in only the courses that they need. Program offers courses needed to fulfill out-of-field requirements (e.g., biology, chemistry, etc.). Dedicated 1:1 advisor throughout the program.

  • Cost: $445/unit (NY residents), $915/unit (out-of-state) + Fees
  • Academic Schedule: 6 courses, course map indicates two years, but it's unclear if students must adhere to this schedule.
  • Admissions Requirements:  Application accepted on a rolling basis; required Bachelor's degree
  • Perks: Post-Bacc certificate in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Comments: Students have the option of earning a second bachelor's, but those students should plan accordingly as the application is different. 


Longwood Professional Studies

  • Cost: $295/unit (VA residents); $365/unit (out-of-state) *Affordable Program for VA residents*
  • Academic Schedule: Summer, Fall, or Spring start
  • Admissions Requirements: Completion of online application; Unofficial transcripts
  • Perks: This is a non-cohort program, you can take classes as needed; Financial aid is available for the SLP pre-requisite courses


San Diego State University

  • Cost: $367/unit
  • Academic Schedule: Fall, Spring, or Summer start, 3 semesters (1 year) if you're taking all courses
  • Admissions Requirements: None, you can register for classes through SDSU's Global Campus.
  • Perks: Courses are completely asynchronous; Non-cohort program, take only the courses you need
  • Comments: Open to students with a Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in a four-year institution; students cannot be pursuing a degree at SDSU. Program does not accept students in Georgia, Nevada, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Washington DC, West Virginia;


SUNY at New Paltz

  • Cost: $353/unit + $1.7 college fee/credit+ $18.50 Technology fee/credit
  • Academic Schedule: Fall, Spring, or Summer start, 3 semesters (1-1.5 years)
  • Admissions Requirements: Minimum 2.8 GPA, BA/BS from accredited institution, Personal statement
  • Perks: Students may take only the courses they need, part time or full time, no deadline to complete course
  • Comments: Only two grades below B- are permitted to stay in the program; Not eligible for financial aid


Texas Woman's University

  • Cost: $238/unit (Texas resident); $648/unit (out-of-state) + Fees
  • Academic Schedule: Summer start, 1 year (3 semesters)
  • Admissions Requirements: Minimum 3.25 GPA, BA/BS from accredited institution, Names, titles/positions, employers, and email addresses of two recommenders; One-page letter of intent
  • Perks: Affordable tuition for in-state residents
  • Comments: Students must maintain grades of A or B to continue in the program. Program offered to individuals who plan to apply to the TWU SLP master's program, but admission to the program is not guaranteed


University of Colorado Boulder

  • Cost: $385/unit ($1,155/course, ~$9,240/entire program),
  • Academic Schedule: Summer start (application deadline, early March), 4 semesters  (summer, fall, spring, summer)
  • Admissions Requirements: Minimum 2.8 GPA; BA/BS from accredited institution; Program application
  • Perks: Financial aid, same tuition for out-of-state and in-state; Non-cohort classes are available if there is space in the class


University of Maryland College Park

  • Cost: $437/credit ($1,311/course) + Fees
  • Academic Schedule: Fall start, 15 month commitment, full-time

University of Montana

University of Nebraska at Kearny

  • Cost: $354/unit (Nebraska resident); $567/unit (out-of-state) + Fees
  • Academic Schedule: Summer or Fall start (unclear, contact program); 3 semesters (1 year: summer, fall spring)
  • Admissions Requirements: BA/BS from accredited institution
  • Perks: Also prepares for entry for doctoral degree programs in Audiology


University of South Florida

University of St. Augustine

  • Admissions Requirements: Completion of BA/BS from an accredited institution with overall minimum 2.75 GPA and 3.0 in last 45 credits; Official transcripts; Letters of rec; Resume; Essays; Interview
  • Perks: Courses are taken as needed; Admission to graduate program upon completion of SLP preparatory pathway with a grade 'B" or higher; receive financial credit toward MS-SLP program; 
  • Comments: Not eligible for financial aid 


University of Vermont

  • Cost: $678/unit (for under 12 units); $8,140 (12-19 units)
  • Academic Schedule: Start Fall or Spring, 1 year (3 semesters: fall, spring, summer)
  • Admissions Requirements: Completion of BA/BS from an accredited institution, Min. GPA of 2.75
  • Perks: Program awards a Speech-Language Pathology Pre-Master's Track Certificate; Classes are asynchronous.

University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire

Utah State University

  • Cost: $405/unit
  • Academic Schedule: Fall, Spring, or Summer start, 3 semesters (1.5 years)
  • Admissions Requirements: BA/BS from an accredited college/university; Minimum 3.0 GPA for second bachelor's
  • Perks: Option between online second bachelor's and non-degree seeking (non-cohort); Program Offers classes in statistics, biological science, physical science, and social/behavioral science if needed to meet requirements for SLP grad school


Western Kentucky University

  • Cost: $551/unit (25 units total)
  • Academic Schedule: Summer start, 1 year (4 semesters: summer, fall, spring, summer II)
  • Admissions Requirements: BA/BS from an accredited college/university or degree in progress,; degree must be completed by time of enrollment, Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Perks: Students can waive classes if already taken somewhere else
  • Other comments: Courses have designated weekly or biweekly synchronous class meetings times.
